BUILDING FAMILIES

We are incredibly proud to be an all-inclusive fertility center, no matter what that looks like for your family. Gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, intersex, asexual, ally, questioning & straight clients are all treated with respect and kindness. Because you're awesome!

LGBTQ FERTILITY

Families come in all shapes and sizes and Audubon Fertility is thrilled to be the clinic of choice for families of all kinds. We welcome the opportunity to help any/all interested couples or individuals conceive and take pride in their successes.

We offer several options to help single patients as well as transgender, bisexual, intersex, asexual, ally, questioning, and gay couples to grow the families of their dreams. Single women and lesbian couples may consider the use of intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in-vitro fertilization (IVF) for family growth.

Learning as much as possible about your options is the first step toward starting a family. Schedule a consult with Dr. Wells or Dr. Ulrich to see what options may be right for you. We are dedicated to LGBTQ+ fertility in New Orleans and love helping individuals experience the joy of parenthood. We can't wait to meet you!

Meet Rachel & Titine

Rachel & Titine wanted to both contribute to their family and were able to do that with Reciprocal IVF. We were honored to be there every step of the way.

MALE PARTNERS

For gay male couples, a gestational carrier (i.e. a woman who gives birth to a baby for another individual or couple) and an egg donor are necessary.

Louisianna law prohibits the use of traditional surrogacy, whereby a woman donates her eggs and serves as a gestational carrier.

Unfortunately, Louisiana law prohibits the use of a gestational carrier when donor gametes are used in creating embryos. We would recommend that you contact one of our partner facilities in Texas where the gestational carrier laws are more friendly. Please contact our clinic for more information to help you realize your dream of becoming a parent.

FEMALE PARTNERS

We help lesbians with viable eggs achieve pregnancy using donor sperm (from a sperm bank) or a known donor, utilizing Intrauterine Insemination.

With Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) a catheter painlessly places the sperm directly into the uterus.

If you have known fertility complications, we can utilize In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). This assisted reproductive technology allows hopeful parents to conceive and deliver healthy babies.

Reciprocal IVF appeals to lesbian couples that wish to share in the miracle of pregnancy. One female partner donates her eggs. Our embryologists fertilize the egg(s) with donor sperm and then transfer the embryo(s) to the other female partner.

We're here for you every step of the way.

TRANSGENDER PATIENTS

We are proud to serve members of the transgender community and understand that people with all different bodies and identities deserve comprehensive, caring, and informed reproductive healthcare/ access to family planning.

We are aware that much of the language regarding reproductive health is gendered in a way that is not inclusive of all of the people we serve. We try our best to be mindful of this in our practice and will strive to use the terminology that makes you feel the most respected and seen. We strongly value offering our clients the basic dignity of using the names and pronouns they would like us to refer them as, and are always seeking feedback from our patients about how we can make their visits more gender affirming.

Our staff has been trained on trans-inclusive gender affirming care, and are equipped to help you explore what family planning could look like as you move forward on your own journey!

When you meet with Dr. Wells or Dr. Ulrich you and your partner will have the opportunity to ask any questions and address any of your concerns. We'll also be able to provide a number of resources to help with your journey to parenthood.

After we've worked together to create a fertility plan, you will meet with our patient benefits coordinator to discuss cost, insurance coverage and possible payment options tailored to your treatment plan. We'll do everything we can to find the best financial solution for you and your family.
